Work Environment

The role is an onsite position located within a hospital setting, where you will interact with a diverse patient population. Our urgent care facility operates Monday through Friday, with each work shift convening at 5:00 pm for 40 hours each week. Collaborating closely with healthcare professionals in a supportive and fast-paced environment, you will find every day brings unique challenges and opportunities to impact patient lives positively.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assess patients' medical histories to provide effective treatment for acute illnesses and injuries.
• Order, perform, and interpret various diagnostic tests, including blood tests and X-rays, to assist in accurate diagnosis.
• Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of acute conditions such as respiratory infections, minor fractures, and lacerations.
• Design and implement evidence-based treatment plans for chronic conditions while considering patient preferences and outcomes.
• Prescribe medications, monitor their effects, and adjust treatments to ensure optimal patient responses.
• Thoroughly document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Engage patients and their families in discussions about health, preventive measures, and health education to promote community wellness.
• Participate in continuous professional development opportunities, staying current with advancements in medical practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our team serves a diverse patient population, including individuals of all ages seeking immediate care for acute health issues. You will encounter a variety of cases, from children with fevers to adults with minor emergency situations. Your role will involve not only diagnosing and treating these cases but also supporting patients and their families with their healthcare journeys.

Qualifications

• A valid State Physician Assistant license (PA-C) and a DEA number.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• In-depth knowledge of patient care, protocols, and relevant healthcare laws.
• Strong communication skills to build relationships with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Exemplary ethical standards and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated success as a Physician Assistant in an urgent care, ER, or hospital environment.

Compensation and Benefits
