Progressive Wellness Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Physician Assistant to join our vibrant team in New York, New York. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in diagnosing and treating a wide range of health conditions, while also emphasizing preventive care. Our team comprises five skilled MDs and five Nurse Practitioners, all committed to delivering top-notch healthcare services.

Work Environment

This role will be performed onsite at our hospital-based clinic, which is designed to facilitate collaboration and communication among healthcare providers. The clinic is equipped with modern medical technology, ensuring you have access to the best resources available to treat your patients effectively. Working full-time, you will engage in a typical schedule of Monday to Friday, with a commitment of 40 hours weekly including a 5:00 PM shift to accommodate working patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and assess patient histories to promote effective diagnosis and treatment strategies.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work and X-rays, ensuring appropriate follow-up and care based on results.
• Diagnose and manage common health conditions within the family medicine scope, contributing to holistic patient care.
• Craft personalized treatment plans for patients with chronic or infectious diseases, tailoring your approach to each individual’s needs.
• Prescribe medications when necessary, closely monitoring patients for responses and efficacies while making adjustments as appropriate.
• Maintain meticulous patient records using our electronic health record system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Educate patients and their families on disease prevention and management techniques, reinforcing the importance of lifestyle changes.
• Oversee and manage patients’ overall health and wellness, serving as a primary point of contact throughout their care journey.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of advancements in the field of primary care.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or a related field is mandatory.
• Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
• State licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York is necessary to practice.
• Proven clinical experience in a family health or urgent care setting is crucial for success in this role.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time Physician Assistant position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 120,000 to USD 150,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
