Senior Lead Software Engineer (AI, Data)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least five years of applied experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability for distributed systems and platform services.
• Strong hands-on Python experience, including building and maintaining APIs and SDKs, leading design, and conducting high-quality code and design reviews.
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, and establishing practical team standards for validating correctness, performance, and security.
• Experience delivering platforms involving generative AI, including LLM orchestration patterns, agentic AI frameworks, and production-grade evaluation and monitoring.
• Practical experience with AWS, containerized platforms such as EKS or ECS, and Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Required Databricks experience building and operating data and ML workloads, including pipelines, notebooks or jobs, Delta or feature datasets, and orchestration or integration with ML workflows.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the software development life cycle, agile delivery, CI/CD, and modern engineering quality controls.
• Strong communication skills with business-facing partners and technical stakeholders, including the ability to translate strategy into execution and measurable outcomes.
• Preferred: Experience building ML platforms that integrate data engineering, feature management, and model serving into cohesive, developer-friendly workflows.
• Preferred: Knowledge of AI/ML model integration, context engineering, and MCP-style tool or function integration patterns.
• Preferred: Exposure to Snowflake.
• Preferred: Familiarity with observability and metrics tools such as CloudWatch, Dynatrace, or Datadog.
• Preferred: AWS certifications.

• Serve as a hands-on technical leader, writing primarily Python production code and owning delivery from design through production operations.
• Lead system and platform architecture for end-to-end ML workflow components, including data transformation, feature management integration, orchestration, and model serving.
• Design and develop agentic AI capabilities to analyze workloads and recommend optimizations, with production-ready evaluation, monitoring, and feedback loops.
• Build and maintain reusable APIs, SDKs, and reference implementations to support consistent platform adoption and reduce duplicated effort.
• Partner with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to clarify requirements, shape technical approaches, manage dependencies, and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Support platform reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency through SLOs, proactive monitoring, incident response, root-cause analysis, and ongoing improvement.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and CI/CD for platform services using infrastructure as code, enabling safe, repeatable deployments.
• Advance the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality, delivery speed, and operations; establish validation standards and promote effective reusable patterns.
• Produce architecture and design documentation aligned with enterprise standards and best practices.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, design reviews, and pairing, helping foster engineering excellence.
• Participate in software engineering communities of practice and events focused on emerging technologies.
