Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our dynamic healthcare team at Able Care Health Center in Grand Prairie, Texas. This full-time, onsite role primarily focuses on supporting our general surgery department by providing exceptional care throughout the patient journey. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, developing detailed medical histories and carrying out physical examinations to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Assist our general surgeons in both elective and emergency surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to surgical protocols and standards.
• Oversee daily patient management, including daily rounding in intensive care units, writing and managing orders, and coordinating admissions and discharges effectively.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative education to patients, ensuring they understand their procedures, care plans, and recovery paths while supporting them emotionally as they navigate surgery.
• Utilize your clinical expertise within a structured scope of practice, collaborating with other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Perform minor surgical procedures and assist in advanced surgical techniques, such as laparoscopy and robotic surgeries, under the supervision of our surgeons.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric surgical candidates. This role requires a compassionate approach to care, with an emphasis on supporting patients and their families. You will address their medical needs while providing reassurance during sometimes stressful surgical experiences, helping them to feel comfortable and informed at all stages of their treatment.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or an equivalent field.
• Current board certification as a Physician Assistant and valid state licensure as required by Texas regulations.
• Ability to obtain a DEA License and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Willingness to acquire Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of advanced practice experience in surgery or hospital medicine is preferred.
• Experience functioning as a First Assistant in surgical settings, particularly with laparoscopic and robotic techniques, is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills, the capacity to thrive in stressful environments, and a commitment to excellent patient care.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
