Make a meaningful impact by supporting high school students with emotional and behavioral disorders in a specialized classroom setting. This contract opportunity is seeking two dedicated Special Education professionals to join a supportive, collaborative environment near Providence, RI for the 2026-2027 school year.

In this role, you’ll provide direct instruction and behavioral support to high schoolers who require a structured, self-contained or sub-separate classroom to thrive. You’ll closely collaborate with school teams, families, and support staff to foster student progress.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education teaching license from the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) appropriate for Secondary level.
• Familiarity or certification in Rhode Island’s Structured Literacy requirement under the Right to Read Act, or the willingness to obtain proficiency within one year.
• Experience with high school-aged students preferred, particularly those with Emotional Behavioral Disorders or significant behavioral needs.
• Strong classroom management strategies and the ability to create safe and supportive learning environments.
• Excellent communication skills for partnering with multidisciplinary teams and families.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized academic instruction following IEP goals in a self-contained or sub-separate classroom setting.
• Implement positive behavioral supports and interventions tailored to individual student needs.
• Track and report student progress, adapting strategies as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with general education staff, related service providers, and families.
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
