Work Environment

Your work will primarily take place onsite, where you will engage with clients in an environment conducive to recovery and healing.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments to create tailored treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient within the orthopedic spectrum.
• Direct hands-on interventions designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function, following the prescribed care plans.
• Oversee and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring that they implement approved care plans effectively and accurately.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tests to evaluate clients' functional levels, reviewing their muscle, nerve, and joint capabilities.
• Provide physical therapy treatments, including therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and the application of various modalities such as traction and massage.
• Evaluate home environments to make actionable recommendations that promote the client's independence during rehabilitation.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, preparing reports that include initial evaluations, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, enabling informed adjustments to care.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team conferences to collaborate on holistic treatment plans, sharing insights and developments regarding patient care.
• Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and the effective use of rehabilitation devices to maximize their recovery outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations while ensuring exceptional patient satisfaction through outstanding service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clientele primarily consists of individuals requiring orthopedic rehabilitation, including those recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic conditions. You will work closely with patients of varied ages and backgrounds, customizing your approach to meet their specific rehabilitation goals and needs.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is preferred.
• Possess a valid and active PT licensure in California, maintaining excellent standing with all regulatory bodies.
• At least one year of experience as a physical therapist, preferably in acute care or home care settings, is required.
• Current CPR certification to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
• Proficient knowledge of federal, state, and governing agency regulations guiding physical therapy practice.
• Possess strong interpersonal communication skills necessary for effective patient engagement and teamwork.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance, as some home visits may be required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with orthopedic patients, combined with a background in acute care settings.
• Expertise in developing and adjusting care plans based on patient feedback and progress evaluations.
• A proven track record of successfully mentoring and supervising junior staff or assistants in a clinical environment.
• Exposure to employing various physical therapy modalities and treatment techniques.
