Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews to gather client histories, assessing mental, behavioral, and emotional health from the initial consultation to the conclusion of treatment.

• Design and implement individualized intervention and recovery plans for a diverse client base, including children, adolescents, and adults facing various mental health issues.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic techniques to foster growth and healing.

• Consistently monitor and document client progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as necessary based on evolving patient needs.

• Collaborate effectively with other mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and nursing staff, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

• Provide follow-up care for clients who may need further intervention, including coordination with hospital staff for those admitted for psychiatric care.

• Educate and support family members and primary caregivers in managing behavioral challenges, enhancing the recovery process.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a counselor, you will primarily work with a diverse client population experiencing conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and addiction. This role demands cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals from various backgrounds. You will strive to provide a safe, empathetic space for clients to explore their mental health concerns while promoting meaningful recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A valid Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.

• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Demonstrated experience working as a mental health counselor and familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR.

• Understanding of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices, ensuring evidence-based approaches.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and team members alike.

Compensation and Benefits\n
