Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on clients’ needs, circumstances, and therapeutic goals.

• Provide therapy using evidence-based methodologies, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy, to individuals, couples, and families.

• Engage in group therapy sessions focused on specific issues like stress management, relationship skills, and addiction recovery.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, adhering to ethical guidelines and legal standards to ensure compliance and protect client confidentiality.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists to ensure integrated care for clients.

• Continuously enhance your competency through professional development workshops and training in the latest mental health research and techniques.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work at Steps to Heal will primarily involve serving diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults who may be facing a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance abuse. Many of our clients are from underserved backgrounds, and your understanding and sensitivity to cultural differences will contribute significantly to their therapeutic experience and outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited program.

• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey.
\n
• At least two years of clinical counseling experience, demonstrating a strong ability to manage diverse client needs effectively.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience with family therapy, couples therapy, or trauma-focused therapy is highly preferred.

• Specialization in areas such as substance abuse recovery or crisis intervention is considered an asset.

• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for maintaining client files and documentation efficiently.

• A proven ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with clients and colleagues.
