Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to thoroughly evaluate clients’ mental health, focusing on mood disorder symptoms and their impact on daily life.

• Develop collaborative and personalized treatment plans based on clinical assessments, individual goals, and preferences of clients, integrating evidence-based practices.

• Implement therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) tailored to the unique needs of each client.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment strategies, and self-care techniques to empower them in their recovery journey.

• Systematically monitor clients’ progress throughout the treatment process, adjusting plans as necessary to maximize effectiveness and client engagement.

• Engage in collaborative care with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive management of clients’ mental health alongside their physical care.

• Stay informed about the latest developments in mood disorder treatments and integrate new findings into clinical practice for improved patient outcomes.

• Maintain meticulous, confidential documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and session notes in compliance with legal standards and ethical guidelines.

• Participate in weekly team meetings and case consultations, contributing insights and collectively strategizing on client care improvements.

• Advocate for clients by fostering a supportive environment that de-stigmatizes mental health issues and promotes awareness of available resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily serve clients facing severe health challenges and their emotional repercussions. These individuals are often dealing with mood disorders related to their illness, creating a complex interplay between physical and mental health needs. Your therapeutic expertise will be pivotal in helping clients navigate their emotional experiences, develop coping strategies, and enhance their overall quality of life during their residency in a Hospice Center.

Qualifications\n

• A valid Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure in the state of New York as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
\n
• Proficient in evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT and DBT specifically focused on mood disorders.

• A comprehensive understanding of psychopharmacology to collaborate effectively with psychiatrists for integrated care.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve successful treatment outcomes in mood disorder interventions.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of establishing rapport with a diverse client base.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 3 years of experience working with clients dealing with mood disorders.

• Experience in a hospice or similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits\n
