About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission-driven, interdisciplinary team in the field of climate action. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic vision, organizational leadership, and fundraising, with a strong emphasis on upholding the values of open science, integrity, and humility. Key responsibilities include articulating and advancing a clear vision for the organization's evolving mission, leading a high-performing team, and fostering a culture of collaboration and intellectual rigor. The role also involves partnering with the Board, maintaining strong relationships with funders, and ensuring the impact of the organization's work aligns with the changing climate landscape. The ideal candidate will have a background in strategic leadership, experience in guiding research or technical teams, and a deep commitment to open science and transparency. They should possess exceptional interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and the ability to inspire and engage a diverse range of stakeholders. A proactive and clear communication style, as well as a proven track record in fundraising, particularly with individual donors and foundations, is essential. The Executive Director will be expected to lead the organization through a period of strategic evolution, balancing the excellence of existing work with the development of new ideas, partnerships, and programs.
