Senior Account Executive, State and Local Government

About the Role Genesys is hiring talented sales professionals in the State & Local Government market to accelerate revenue growth for our leading customer experience platform. The selected candidate will focus on expanding adoption among existing accounts while securing new customer business. Responsibilities include leveraging the MEDDPICC framework, managing sales opportunities, and building deep relationships within the industry to inform product strategy. Key Responsibilities Drive revenue, market share, and exceed new pipeline targets in the defined geographic region. Effectively lead and manage active sales opportunities with prospects and customers using the MEDDPICC methodology. Understand acquisition and procurement rules to guide new customers through buying processes. Accurately forecast and exceed monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue targets. Build, maintain, and evolve Territory Plans to align strategy with Genesys’ strategic direction and develop a robust sales pipeline. Collaborate with Genesys Partners, VARs, Integrators, AppFoundry, and Carrier channel partners to build greater awareness and streamline opportunity management. Plan initiatives with internal partners (Business Development Representatives, Field Marketing, Event Marketing, Channel, and Healthcare teams) to support regional revenue growth. Present compelling business value propositions through effective written and spoken communication. Understand customer technical and business requirements to shape product direction. Collaborate with internal legal and finance teams on complex contract negotiations. Prepare and deliver business reviews to senior management on quarterly and yearly strategies aligning with revenue growth expectations. Accelerate customer adoption and ensure satisfaction in partnership with Customer Success Managers. Position and articulate the business value of digital and AI solutions. Research customer mission and priorities to inform strategic alignment and product differentiation. Minimum Requirements 8+ years of field enterprise sales or business development experience focused on State & Local Government AI, enterprise software, networking, infrastructure, customer experience, and/or cloud computing services. Understanding and experience with State & Local Government procurement and funding models. BA/BS degree or equivalent experience. Proficiency with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Clari, Zoom, ZoomInfo, DocuSign, Workday, and Tableau. Demonstrated proficiency in MEDDPICC, Account Strategy Mapping, and Opportunity Plans. Must be based in the region with the ability to travel at least 25% of the time. Desirable Skills Technical sales and solutions background in customer experience, CCaaS, UCaaS, APIs, infrastructure, AI, telecom, cybersecurity, etc. Consistent history of exceeding sales quota. Experience selling to diverse public sector agencies. Documented industry and customer network. Compensation Base salary range: $111,700.00 – $196,300.00.
