Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients recovering from various conditions, including injuries, surgeries, and chronic illnesses, within the rehabilitation facility.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patients' specific needs, encompassing methods such as therapeutic exercises, hands-on therapy, and the use of specialized equipment.
• Document patient treatments and progress in detail, assessing their responses and adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery.
• Collaborate with patients and their families to educate them on rehabilitation techniques, exercises, and the use of any recommended assistive devices.
• Continuously update your professional knowledge through workshops, professional publications, and networking opportunities. Engage with team members in shared learning experiences.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patients at Beacon Health Physical Therapy include individuals of all ages, from children to seniors, each presenting unique rehabilitation challenges. You will work closely with patients undergoing treatment for sports injuries, post-operative recovery, neurological conditions, and chronic pain. Your role as a PT not only involves physical recovery but also emotional support, helping patients regain confidence and independence in their daily lives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• Current state license to practice Physical Therapy in Virginia.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Proficient in using electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist is required. Candidates with extensive clinical experience will be preferred.
• Familiarity with assistive devices and modalities appropriate for a variety of therapeutic interventions.
• Experience in mentoring or teaching newer staff or students will be highly regarded.
