Key Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose clients' physical conditions to develop customized treatment plans aimed at reducing pain, improving mobility, and restoring function.

• Conduct detailed evaluations using diagnostic and prognostic tests to gauge muscle, nerve, joint, and functional abilities.

• Direct and oversee the implementation of care plans, ensuring that physical therapy assistants follow prescribed pathways accurately.

• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities such as traction and massage to promote healing.

• Recommend modifications to prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with patients and physicians to enhance client independence.

• Prepare and maintain accurate clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

• Participate in and contribute to interdisciplinary case conferences to discuss patient progress and update treatment plans as necessary.

• Educate clients and their families on therapeutic exercises, use of equipment, and strategies to improve daily functioning.

• Stay accessible to assist and supervise physical therapy assistants during treatments, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care.

• Engage actively in administrative responsibilities, including timely completion of documentation as per facility policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist will primarily work with a diverse patient population, focusing particularly on individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in physical therapy, ideally in acute or home care settings.

• Current valid license to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York.

• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.

• A commitment to clinical excellence, quality patient care, and maintaining integrity in practice.

• Strong communication skills and an ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation or sports medicine settings.

• Training in specialized therapeutic techniques or certifications related to physical therapy.

• Experience in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) and physical therapy documentation systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Coastal Physical Therapy offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 50,000 to USD 80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
