Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments by recording patients' medical histories and current symptoms to inform effective treatment plans.
• Perform comprehensive physical examinations, observing development milestones and monitoring for signs of illness or injury.
• Create and implement individualized patient care plans while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, utilizing the results to diagnose health issues accurately.
• Administer medications and treatments, observing patient responses and making adjustments as necessary to optimize care.
• Educate parents and caregivers on child health, disease prevention, and management of pediatric conditions, equipping them with vital knowledge for at-home care.
• Consult with pediatricians and specialists to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in accordance with clinic policies and health regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population ranges from newborns to young adults up to age 18, encompassing a variety of health needs from routine wellness check-ups to the management of chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and developmental disorders. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, you will be instrumental in developing trusting relationships with both patients and their families, guiding them through the challenges of pediatric health care and ensuring they feel supported and informed.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing, specializing in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or equivalent qualifications.
• An active and unrestricted Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) license in the state of Maryland.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric primary care principles and practices.
• Proficient in performing patient assessments, diagnosing conditions, and developing management strategies.
• Excellent communication abilities to effectively educate and support parents and children.
• Commitment to providing high-quality, ethical care within a pediatric setting.

Preferred Experience

• Previous work in a pediatric office or children's hospital setting is highly desirable.
• Expertise in the management of common pediatric acute illnesses and chronic conditions.
• A demonstrated ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and care coordination.

Compensation and Benefits
