Mindful Support Wellness is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in a remote capacity. This full-time role focuses on providing essential in-home and outpatient therapeutic services to children and families, particularly those affected by developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. Work Environment\n

This role is designed to be performed remotely, allowing for a flexible work schedule while providing in-home therapy to clients when necessary. You will interface with families and caregivers primarily during after-school hours (typically from 4 PM to 7 PM), with the potential for weekend availability when needed. Our approach involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary Child Family Treatment Team to offer cohesive and holistic support for our clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual therapy sessions within clients’ homes or group therapy at our outpatient center, utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to each child's unique needs.

• Implement strategies focusing on anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills to effectively diminish high-risk behaviors, including self-injurious behaviors (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Guide and enhance decision-making skills for both youth and their caretakers, addressing behavioral challenges present within the home environment.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with other professionals within the Child Family Treatment Team, ensuring a unified approach to support each child and family.
\n
• Complete all required documentation comprehensively and within specified time frames, including treatment plans and progress notes, to facilitate ongoing assessment and planning.
\n
• Participate in monthly collaborative meetings, contributing insights and recommendations to optimize treatment strategies.
\n

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on children aged 3-20 years old who are facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will work closely with families, addressing unique challenges and empowering them with the tools they need to promote healthy emotional growth and coping strategies. Your expertise will help provide stability and support crucial for children with exceptional needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
\n
• An active and unrestricted state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is a must.
\n
• Availability to work a minimum of 5-10 hours weekly, primarily during late afternoon or evening hours.
\n
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle for travel to client homes as necessary.
\n
• A clean criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required for all applicants.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support is highly desirable.
\n
• Previous work experience with children between the ages of 3 and 20, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities, is a plus.

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is strongly preferred to better serve our community.

Compensation and Benefits\n
