Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients visiting the urgent care facility, utilizing appropriate diagnostic methods to determine immediate medical needs.
• Formulate and manage treatment plans for patients, ensuring proper medical intervention and follow-up procedures are in place.
• Coordinate with hospital case management for effective discharge planning, streamlining patient transitions across care levels.
• Act as a consulting physician for hospitalized patients with primary medical diagnoses, providing critical insights and care recommendations in partnership with other medical staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation that satisfies the criteria of insurance requirements, ensuring all denials are addressed through appeals when necessary.
• Participate in both inpatient and outpatient consultations, which may include on-call responsibilities for emergencies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will care for a diverse patient population ranging from pediatric to adult patients experiencing acute health issues. You will address a wide variety of conditions from common illnesses to urgent medical situations that require immediate attention. Your ability to handle these cases with competence and compassion is essential to delivering excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current and valid Physician Assistant license (PA-C) in the state of New York.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in urgent care or emergency medicine.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• A robust work ethic and a commitment to a performance-driven, team-based healthcare system.
• Possession of a DEA number is required to prescribe medications.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a hospital-based urgent care or emergency room setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, enabling effective communication with a broader patient demographic.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical documentation processes.

Compensation and Benefits
