Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including detailed medical histories, comprehensive physical examinations, and necessary diagnostic evaluations to determine pain syndromes and treatment responsiveness.
• Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with chronic pain, as well as those undergoing surgical procedures, in alignment with collaborating physicians to optimize patient therapies.
• Perform various procedures and minor surgical interventions when required, ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and under the supervision of attending physicians.
• Educate patients regarding their medical conditions, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications aimed at promoting overall wellness and adherence to pain management strategies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up care while adhering to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role in the Pain Management department will involve working with a diverse patient population grappling with various pain issues, ranging from acute postoperative pain to debilitating chronic conditions. You will assess not only their clinical needs but also provide emotional and psychological support, helping patients navigate their treatment journeys.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program is required.
• Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant in New York.

Preferred Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in a clinical setting, ideally in pain management or a related specialty.

Compensation and Benefits
