Work Environment

The position is situated within a modern hospital facility where a collaborative atmosphere underscores our day-to-day operations. The role entails direct patient engagement in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Operating during regular business hours from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, you will benefit from a structured work schedule while participating in initiatives that foster both clinical excellence and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and devise effective treatment strategies for patients dealing with chronic pain using advanced diagnostic skills.
• Collaborate with case managers to develop comprehensive discharge plans tailored to patients' needs, ensuring a seamless transition from hospital to home care.
• Engage in initiatives that aim to enhance quality of care while promoting cost-effectiveness, thereby increasing the operational efficiency of the clinic.
• Receive referrals from fellow physicians, providing expert consultation for patients requiring specialized pain management interventions.
• Maintain precise and compliant documentation that meets insurance standards while swiftly managing any appeals for claim denials.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to provide essential inpatient consultations, catering to urgent needs during evenings and weekends.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In your role as a Physician Assistant, you will primarily focus on adult patients suffering from chronic pain conditions, including but not limited to back pain, arthritis, migraine, and neuropathic pain. Understanding the unique challenges these patients face will be crucial in developing personalized treatment plans that improve their quality of life and functional ability.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required.
• An active Physician Assistant license in the state of New York is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of hands-on clinical experience in a healthcare setting with a strong emphasis on pain management practice.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential to effectively work within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this role ranges from $150,000 to $180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
