Step into a rewarding contract opportunity shaping the educational journey of students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) in a supportive school environment. This onsite role calls for a dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to serve a vibrant elementary campus beginning August 25, 2026, and continuing through June 10, 2027. Working full-time, you’ll guide and support approximately nine students, helping them unlock their potential and achieve meaningful milestones.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate compassion, adaptability, and a strong foundation in special education. The position runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch each day, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Teaching Certification required (Tier 3 or 4)
• Background working with students with developmental cognitive disabilities preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to individualized education plan (IEP) implementation
• Skilled at collaborating with general educators, support staff, and families
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Teach and support a caseload of approximately nine DCD students, ensuring individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals
• Develop, adapt, and deliver lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to cultivate a positive learning environment
• Track and assess student progress, providing regular updates and adapting strategies as needed
• Maintain accurate records for compliance and best practices
