Work Environment\n

This position allows for remote work, which provides flexibility and supports a healthy work-life balance. Although you will be working from your home office, you will be part of a collaborative outpatient office team that connects regularly through virtual meetings, consultation sessions, and professional development workshops. We utilize the AVATAR electronic health record system to streamline practice management and keep detailed records of our client interactions.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews with clients, recording comprehensive histories and observations from the initial consultation through to their exit from treatment.
\n
• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health using standardized diagnostic tools to inform treatment decisions.
\n
• Develop customized intervention and recovery plans tailored to individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring that each plan is aligned with the clients’ specific needs.
\n
• Facilitate engaging and evidence-based individual and group therapy sessions, incorporating innovative techniques that promote healing and personal growth.
\n
• Continuously monitor client progress against treatment objectives, adjusting strategies and providing feedback to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
\n
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and medical professionals, to develop a cohesive intervention strategy for clients with complex needs.
\n
• Act as a liaison, providing necessary follow-up with psychiatrists or attending physicians for clients needing hospitalization.
\n
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and actively implement strategies to address and mitigate these challenges, promoting constructive behavioral changes.

• Support family members and primary caregivers by educating them on effective strategies to assist with mental and behavioral health issues.

Qualifications\n

• Master's degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in Tennessee.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to convey complex information effectively to clients and colleagues.

• Exceptional interpersonal abilities combined with a sympathetic approach to counseling, fostering a safe and trusting therapeutic environment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Proven work experience as a mental health counselor, with direct engagement in therapeutic practices and treatment planning.

• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, allowing for efficient tracking and management of client health data.

• Experience working with individuals suffering from co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
\n
• Understanding of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical standards.
\n
• Knowledge of medication effects prescribed by healthcare providers, enabling informed collaboration and client education.

Compensation and Benefits\n
