Work Environment

This full-time role requires the Physician Assistant to work onsite within a state-of-the-art hospital facility. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. Our hospital is equipped with the latest technologies in surgical care, providing an ideal environment to engage in both routine and complex cases. As a member of the surgical team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with supervising surgeons and physicians to provide comprehensive healthcare for surgical patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics and inpatient wards.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, formulate care plans, and implement treatment protocols based on each patient's needs.
• Lead daily patient rounds to monitor recovery progress and address any emerging complications or concerns.
• Manage patient admissions and discharges by coordinating with nursing staff and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
• Deliver pre-operative and post-operative education to patients and their families, ensuring they understand care plans and recovery expectations.
• Assist in the operating room, performing minor surgical procedures as needed, and supporting lead surgeons in more complex surgeries.
• Participate in Emergency Department and Cardiac Care Unit consultations as part of the surgical care team.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

The Physician Assistant will care for a diverse patient population, ranging from children to the elderly, who are undergoing surgical procedures for various health issues. Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies is required.
• Must possess a current State License as a Physician Assistant.
• Board certification as a Physician Assistant is mandatory.
• DEA License required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of advanced practice experience in a surgical or hospital medicine setting is preferred.
• Experience with operating room assistance, particularly with laparoscopic and robotic surgical techniques, is highly valued.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
