Clinical Physician Assistant for Surgical Care

Position Overview

Able Care Health Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team in Garland, Texas. In this full-time, onsite role, you will partner with an experienced general surgeon in the dynamic environment of our state-of-the-art Surgical Center. Your contributions will significantly impact the management and care of patients undergoing various surgical procedures, from pre-operative evaluations to post-operative follow-ups.

As a PA-C, your role will primarily involve direct patient care, collaborating closely with our surgical team to deliver comprehensive treatment across various healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct, individualized patient care, including assessing, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans to meet both short and long-term health goals.
• Conduct daily rounding for inpatients, ensuring thorough evaluations and continuity of care along with the surgeon.
• Facilitate pre-operative and post-operative education for patients and their families, emphasizing clear communication of care plans and expectations.
• Assist in the operating room by performing minor procedures and supporting the surgical team as a first assist, particularly in laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.
• Contribute to hospital admissions and discharges, documenting progress notes and communicating effectively with healthcare team members.
• Participate in Emergency Department (ED) and Critical Care Unit (CCU) consultations to assess and manage patients in acute settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position involves caring for a diverse patient population, including individuals of all ages who require surgical intervention. Your role is vital in ensuring that patients receive holistic care throughout their surgical journey, thus enhancing their overall experience and contributing to improved health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Current board certification as a Physician Assistant.
• Active State Licensure as a Physician Assistant in Texas.
• Possession of a DEA License.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) by the American Heart Association.
• Ability to obtain Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2-3 years of advanced practice experience in surgical or hospital medicine is highly desirable.
• Experience as a first assist in the OR, particularly with laparoscopic and robotic procedures, is preferred.
• A demonstrated eagerness to learn and adapt to the practice flow within a surgical setting is appreciated.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition, our comprehensive benefits package includes:
