Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while conducting therapy sessions and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Our outpatient office facilitates in-person meetings and offers a supportive setting for therapeutic and administrative tasks. Technological tools will be deployed for documentation, communication, and session planning, ensuring that therapists can focus on what matters most—providing excellent care to families in need.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions as well as group therapy sessions in our outpatient center, designed to foster emotional well-being and skill building.

• Implement therapeutic interventions to teach anger management, coping mechanisms, and social skills to children and parents, addressing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behaviors (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Assist youth and their caretakers in enhancing decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges within the home.
\n
• Engage in regular collaboration with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, ensuring a cohesive approach to treating each child.
\n
• Complete all required documentation—including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes—within specified time frames to maintain compliance and facilitate effective treatment.
\n
• Participate in monthly meetings to share insights and recommendations with team members, contributing to ongoing quality improvement efforts.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The ideal candidate will work primarily with children and adolescents (ages 3-20) diagnosed with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and face a variety of challenges, requiring an understanding of unique family dynamics and cultural considerations. As a therapist, you will play a crucial role in nurturing their growth and helping their families thrive by providing consistent and compassionate support.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is essential.

• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM) is a must, with weekend availability considered a strong plus.

• Proven experience in delivering positive behavior support strategies is required.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are mandatory.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is a prerequisite for employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working with children aged 3-20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits\n
