RN Psychiatric Geriatric

The Registered Nurse at Montana State Hospital provides skilled nursing care and support within a geriatric psychiatric setting. The role involves nursing assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for adult clients, ensuring a therapeutic environment. The RN will assign and guide subordinate nursing personnel while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Strong skills in de-escalation and psychopharmacology knowledge are essential. The position requires at least 2 years of experience in geriatric psychiatric nursing and a current Montana RN license. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Montana.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in geriatric psychiatric nursing.
• Knowledge of nursing, medications, treatment planning, and patient rights.
• Skill in the use of nursing instruments and equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform accurate documentation and patient assessments.
• Proficiency with patient care information systems technology.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (college or university degree).
• CPI certification (highly desired).

• Experience working with psychiatric inpatient treatment programs.
• At least 1 year of travel contract nursing experience.

• Flexible to facility scheduling with potential shift differentials.
• Work environment focused on geriatric psychiatric care requiring strong de-escalation skills.
• One meal provided per shift.

• 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
• Flexible scheduling as determined by the facility.
