Work Environment

Your primary work setting will be in patients' homes throughout Arlington, Virginia. This unique environment allows for a flexible schedule while enabling you to connect with patients in a familiar space. The hours will be Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a work-life balance that many professionals seek.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient assessments and devise individualized therapy plans tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals.
• Implement treatment interventions in patients' homes, utilizing therapeutic techniques that align with the physician's prescribed course of care.
• Regularly evaluate patients' progress, adjusting care plans as necessary to ensure ongoing improvement in their physical condition and functional abilities.
• Educate patients and their families on prescribed exercises, therapeutic modalities, and proper use of assistive devices to promote independence and continued improvement outside of therapy sessions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EMR software to track patient progress and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Prioritize daily caseloads, manage staffing needs, and ensure smooth hand-offs and communication within the team.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily serve an orthopedic patient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic pain conditions. Your expertise will be vital in helping patients regain their strength, mobility, and overall quality of life. You will encounter diverse cases, requiring you to adapt your techniques and foster a compassionate environment that addresses both physical and emotional needs.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required, with a strong foundation in orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Licensure as a Physical Therapist in Virginia is mandatory, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
• At least two years of relevant clinical experience in a similar setting, demonstrating your ability to manage patient care effectively.
• Proficient manual therapy skills and the ability to tailor rehabilitation techniques to individual needs.
• A clean disciplinary record, reflecting your commitment to professionalism and ethical practice.

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT, is preferred to enhance documentation efficiency.
• Experience working in home care settings, which will facilitate smoother transitions and patient interactions.
• Background in working with pediatric or geriatric populations is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
