Community Employment Program Specialist (S) Agency: Dept of Health and Human Services Division: Central Regional Hospital Position Number: 60047482 | Grade: NC06 Description of Work The primary purpose of this position is to provide psychosocial treatment facilitation to assist patients in developing community living and vocational skills. Responsibilities include assessing patients’ living skills, completing job readiness evaluations, developing a client job‑placement plan, educating patients on the duties and expectations of employers, breaking jobs into manageable components, training patients to perform job duties, and providing on‑site supervision and support. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of characteristics of psychiatric illness. Ability to instruct in a group/classroom setting. Ability to complete an initial patient work assessment and ongoing assessments. Ability to relate to patients in a supportive and therapeutic manner. Conditional Requirements Must be willing to obtain a CDL to meet programming needs upon hire. Applicant must successfully complete all required initial one‑time trainings, Trauma‑Informed Care training, and hospital/clinical orientations, as well as annual required trainings, CPR certification every two years, and any just‑in‑time training related to changes in hospital/departmental policies. ADA physical requirements will be discussed in detail during the interview process. Salary Range $35,596.00 – $62,294.00 Compensation and Benefits Full‑time position eligible for the full North Carolina State benefits program, including health insurance options, retirement plans, NCFlex program, paid vacation, sick leave, community service leave, and paid parental leave. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in a human services or business field (e.g., human resources, marketing, business administration, healthcare management, public administration) from an accredited institution. Associate’s degree in a relevant field and two years of directly related work experience. High school diploma or GED and four years of directly related work experience.
