The VP of Business Development is responsible for developing new market initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing business opportunities. Plans and directs all aspects of an organization’s business development policies, objectives, and initiatives. Being a VP of Business Development may also be accountable for licensing initiatives and programs; duties include negotiating contracts, initiating proposals, and closing deals. Conducts financial feasibility studies and develops proposals for new business opportunities. In addition, VP of Business Development requires a bachelor’s degree. Typically reports to top management. The VP of Business Development manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business. Has acquired the business acumen and leadership experience to become a top function or division head.

Our company is looking for a VP of Business Development to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the new business team and pitch process, with support from the business development team and other experts within various Fullscreen divisions;
  • Prioritizing, calling, meeting, proposing, and closing new channel partners;
  • Maintaining SalesForce automation system to track and optimize activities;
  • Drives organizational usage of SalesForce CRM software;
  • Serves as leader for each sales opportunity as necessary;
  • Reviews all opportunities for strategy and qualification;
  • Prioritizing, calling, meeting, proposing, and closing new deals with clients to achieve monthly sales objectives;
  • Builds, manages and maintains a vetted sales pipeline to support stated growth goals;
  • Support and/or lead key company building activities;
  • Attending trade shows, conducting webinars, and other thought leadership activities;
  • Represent Fathom externally, to build awareness with potential Fathom partners and large prospects;
  • Assists in setting the sales strategies for training and development for the broader sale team;
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership;
  • Works with various departments to develop and execute on opportunities;
  • Studying market developments and company metrics to identify new segments and adapt sales strategy and techniques.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years minimum experience in agency business development roles, and/or similar;
  • An adaptive approach; a love of an ever-changing environment where you are constantly improving yourself, your teammates and our processes;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to a diverse audience both internally and externally;
  • MBA strongly preferred;
  • Skilled at structuring and negotiating complex partnerships;
  • Ability to execute a new business acquisition process, evaluate new opportunities and secure new business;
  • A “hunter” mentality, tenacious drive and enthusiastic attitude;
  • Demonstrated superior skills in working with physician leaders and developing relationships with outside organizations;
  • Able and willing to travel on a regular basis;
  • Prior experience with partnerships ranging from Fortune 100 to strategic relationships with fast growing start-ups;
  • Relevant healthcare agency and/or pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry experience;
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking engagements;
  • Understanding of complex financial products and ability to simplify into a coherent story;
  • Experience defining strategic long-term organizational goals;
