Business Development Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a Business Development to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Quantify how to take our product to market;
  • Assisting in the implementation of production, productivity, quality and customer service standards;
  • Staying very involved in the community through participation in specific trade associations;
  • Prescreen and qualify loans prior to the underwriting process;
  • Forecasting projected business;
  • Assisting in new marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements;
  • Cultivate relationships with intermediaries such as real estate brokers, accountants, attorneys;
  • Solving problems, identifying trends and assisting in determining necessary system improvements;
  • Establishing targeted market share;
  • developers, owners, managers and other direct borrowers;
  • Working with current and potential customers in the Maryland/Virginia and DC metro area;
  • and financial planners in search of debt or equity opportunities;
  • Originate commercial real estate debt, mezzanine, preferred equity and JV equity transactions;
  • Defining market competitor’s share, strengths and weaknesses;
  • Taking the lead on setting up and creating Trade Shows and Continuing Education Courses (1 or 2 a year) for our clients.

Requirements:

  • Experience responding to industry-related RFPs;
  • CRM and Marketing Automation tools experience;
  • Excellent organizational proficiency to work independently and manage projects with multiple activities;
  • Prior experience with safety, security, environmental or emergency management consulting or technology a plus;
  • A self-starter demeanor with excellent communication skills;
  • commercial banking/ commercial mortgage experience;
  • Someone who is easy-going, compassionate towards people, outstanding customer service skills;
  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Business or a related area with real estate coursework is preferred;
  • Working knowledge of social media and emerging technologies a plus;
  • Knowledge of basic commercial real estate fundamentals is desirable with a minimum of 5 years;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently;
  • Minimum 1-2 year sales or marketing experience. College graduates welcome with bachelors degree or better with marketing studies;
  • Outside sales and/or customer service experience a plus;
  • Experience with Trade Shows (1 or 2 a year) is a PLUS;
  • Must have previous relationships with Commercial Real Estate clients.
