Description:
This position involves floating to various medical-surgical and telemetry units.
You will float across all acute care nursing areas depending on staffing needs.
Patient populations may include Geriatric/Palliative Care, Orthopedics & Trauma, Medicine, Surgical, Client, Epilepsy & Stroke, Acute Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Hematology/Oncology, Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Cardiovascular, and Digestive Health.
You may also work with patients in the Acute Care Special Pathogens Unit and those boarding in the Emergency Department.
Please note, this role does not include critical care or intermediate care units.
You are expected to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 winter holidays.
This role requires adherence to floating policies.
Prior charge experience is beneficial.
Candidates must have the ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
Experience in telemetry is required.
Ability to handle patient ratios of approximately 4.5 patients per nurse during day shifts is expected.
