Lead People Strategy Across a Growing, Multi-State Healthcare Organization
InterDent Service Corporation is one of the largest dental support organizations (DSOs) in the western United States, providing centralized business and administrative services that allow clinicians to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
Supporting approximately 165 affiliated dental practices, 400+ dentists, and more than 2,100 employees across eight western states, InterDent operates under respected regional brands including Gentle Dental®, SmileKeepers®, Blue Oak Dental®, and Capitol Dental Care®.
In addition to our predominantly fee‑for‑service platform, InterDent operates Capitol Dental Care (CDC), a nationally recognized value‑based care organization that partners with Oregon Coordinated Care Organizations to deliver oral healthcare through the Oregon Health Plan. Since 1994, CDC has focused on improving oral and overall health outcomes through preventive, community‑based care.
To provide exceptional, lifelong, integrated oral healthcare services while improving the overall health and wellbeing of the communities we serve.
InterDent is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and results‑oriented Director of Human Resources to lead HR business partnership across our operations organization.
Reporting to the CHRO, the Director serves as a trusted advisor to executive and operational leadership, helping shape workforce strategy while leading a high‑performing regional HR team. This leader is responsible for driving organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, talent development, workforce planning, employee relations, and compliance across a large, geographically dispersed workforce.
This role directly oversees two Human Resources Managers/Business Partners and provides functional leadership to three Human Resources Generalists through a dotted‑line reporting structure. The Director partners closely with Regional Vice Presidents, Directors of Operations, Clinical Leadership, Total Rewards, Payroll, Legal, and Executive Leadership to align people strategies with business objectives while fostering an engaging, high‑performance culture.
Lead, develop, and mentor a team of two Human Resources Managers/Business Partners while providing strategic direction and functional leadership to three Human Resources Generalists.
Build organizational capability by developing HR talent, strengthening business partnership skills, and promoting operational excellence across the HR team.
Establish priorities, allocate resources, and ensure consistent delivery of HR services across multiple regions.
Foster collaboration and consistency across the HR function while serving as an influential leader within the broader People organization.
Strategic Business Partnership
Serve as the primary strategic HR partner for Regional Vice Presidents, Directors of Operations, and senior operational leadership.
Develop workforce strategies that support organizational growth, operational performance, employee engagement, and retention.

Provide executive‑level guidance on complex employee relations matters, investigations, performance management, corrective actions, and separations.
Partner with Legal to mitigate employment risk and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
Performance Management and Organizational Development
Lead annual performance review and merit process.
Lead succession planning and talent review processes across supported business units.
Identify leadership development opportunities and implement programs that strengthen management capability.
Champion employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs that reinforce InterDent's culture and values.
Lead organizational change initiatives associated with business transformation, acquisitions, restructuring, and operational improvement.
Partner with executive leadership to develop communication and change management strategies that improve adoption and organizational effectiveness.
Drive continuous improvement within HR processes, policies, and service delivery.

Prepare and present innovative HR metrics, audit findings, and operational reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Support internal audits, litigation preparation, and agency responses as required.
Partner closely with Benefits, HRIS, Compensation, Finance, and Operations to deliver integrated people solutions.
Evaluate HR programs and initiatives using data and workforce analytics to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
Eight or more years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
Minimum of three years leading HR professionals or HR Business Partners.
Demonstrated success supporting multi‑site organizations with geographically dispersed workforces.
Strong background in employee relations, organizational development, compliance, and leadership coaching.
Healthcare, dental, retail, hospitality, or other large multi‑site service organization experience.
Experience leading organizational change and transformation initiatives.
Exceptional coaching, relationship‑building, and communication skills.
Data‑driven decision‑making and analytical problem‑solving.
At InterDent, Human Resources is more than a support function—we are strategic partners who help shape the future of our organization.
This role offers the opportunity to influence executive decision‑making, develop leaders, strengthen organizational culture, and help guide one of the largest dental support organizations in the western United States through its next phase of growth.
If you're passionate about building exceptional teams, developing leaders, and creating workplaces where people thrive, we'd love to hear from you.
