Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Jersey City. The clinic is designed to provide a welcoming atmosphere for patients and staff alike, featuring modern rehabilitation equipment and treatment areas equipped for a wide range of therapeutic modalities. The schedule consists of weekday shifts from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility to meet patient needs. As part of our team, you will collaborate closely with experienced healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, ensuring coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in delivering individualized therapeutic interventions aimed at improving patients' mobility, strength, and functionality.
• Guide patients through prescribed exercise regimens, stretches, and therapeutic activities, fostering a supportive environment that motivates progress.
• Educate patients on body mechanics, exercise techniques, and effective home exercise routines to facilitate ongoing recovery.
• Administer various modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold applications under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking essential metrics such as range of motion, strength improvements, and overall functional gains.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are organized and readily available for therapy sessions.
• Collaborate effectively within the interdisciplinary team to ensure cohesive patient care and optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients through their rehabilitation journeys, fostering positivity and resilience.
• Uphold ethical and professional standards, ensuring confidentiality and safeguarding patient rights throughout all interactions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The PTA will work with a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, age-related issues, and those needing rehabilitation following surgical interventions. Qualifications

• An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Possession of a valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Compensation and Benefits
