Experienced Physical Therapist Assistant for Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center

Position Overview

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at our rehabilitation facility located in Jersey City, New Jersey. This full-time position will focus on enhancing patient recovery through the implementation of individualized treatment plans, working closely with licensed Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing customized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' mobility, strength, and overall functionality.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and functional activities, promoting physical well-being and pain alleviation.
• Educate patients about proper body mechanics, exercise techniques, and home exercise programs to empower them in their recovery journey.
• Administer therapy modalities, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, while adhering to protocols established by Physical Therapists.
• Monitor patient progress by documenting range of motion, strength improvements, and functional gains, ensuring records are up-to-date and accurately reflecting each patient's journey.
• Maintain therapy areas by ensuring all equipment and supplies are organized, sanitized, and ready for use in treatment sessions.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists, to coordinate and optimize patient care.
• Support the emotional aspects of rehabilitation by providing encouragement and motivation to patients throughout their treatment processes.
• Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and ethical practice, respecting patient rights at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The healing environment at our rehab center enables you to work with a diverse population ranging from elderly patients recovering from surgery to young athletes rehabilitating from sports injuries. You'll be tasked with tailoring therapeutic approaches to suit each unique individual, considering their age, condition, and rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Hold an Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• A valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• A solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions in physical therapy.
• Proven ability to apply therapeutic exercises and modalities under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and effective communication with patients and healthcare colleagues.
• Compassionate demeanor with a patient-centered approach, determined to support each patient in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing time efficiently in a busy clinical environment.

Preferred Experience

We are looking for candidates with at least two years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within a rehabilitation or physical therapy facility. Experience working with an interdisciplinary team and a strong understanding of various therapeutic modalities is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
