This position is designed as a remote role, allowing for flexibility while maintaining strong connections with our patients. We prioritize a work-life balance, with a focused work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of the mental health of elderly patients, considering their physical, cognitive, and social circumstances.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that are evidence-based and focused on actionable goals to improve patients' mental health.

• Utilize various therapeutic modalities, including individual and family therapy, to deliver appropriate interventions tailored to geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Work closely with interprofessional colleagues, particularly geriatric psychiatrists, to ensure comprehensive and cohesive care.

• Provide crisis intervention for patients facing mental health emergencies, ensuring a swift and effective response.

• Educate patients and their families about various mental health issues, treatment strategies, and available resources within the community.

• Maintain accurate and secure patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring documentation reflects the highest ethical standards.

• Engage in regular team meetings, fostering a collaborative approach to care and participating actively in case discussions.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in geriatric mental health to continuously improve patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on the geriatric population, addressing issues prevalent among older adults. Patients often present with complex mental health diagnoses, including but not limited to, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and cognitive impairments. Understanding the nuances of geriatric mental health is crucial as therapists will engage with patients who may face unique challenges relating to aging, such as loss of independence, grief, and caretaker roles.

Qualifications\n

• Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT within the state of California.

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in mental health therapy, particularly with elderly clients.

• Strong understanding and experience addressing geriatric mental health disorders incorporating evidence-based practices.

• Proven ability to perform individual and family therapy effectively with older adults.

• Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy, and the ability to engage with elderly patients and their families.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and adept in using relevant therapeutic methodologies and tools.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years post-licensure experience is required, candidates with specialized training in geriatric mental health or those who have worked in community health settings will find themselves at an advantage. Familiarity with teletherapy practices is also preferred as we embrace remote service delivery.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The role offers a competitive annual salary range of USD 115,000 to USD 130,000, commensurate with experience.
