Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations in the field, often in conjunction with law enforcement, to assess the need for involuntary detention under 5150/5585 protocols.

• Maintain precise records of confidential patient information while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy.
\n
• Engage in effective communication with law enforcement officers, Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs), hospital staff, and psychiatrists to facilitate comprehensive care for individuals in crisis.

• Assist in training police personnel to handle mental health encounters with sensitivity and promote the de-escalation of potential confrontations.
\n
• Provide short-term crisis counseling for individuals experiencing non-violent mental health episodes, guiding them through immediate challenges.
\n
• Accompany law enforcement on mental health crisis responses, ensuring individuals receive timely and appropriate care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role uniquely focuses on assisting individuals in crisis, including arrestees who may be experiencing acute mental health episodes and community members seeking support. Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.
