Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to gain a comprehensive understanding of patients’ trauma histories, strengths, and challenges.

• Develop personalized treatment plans that address specific needs related to trauma recovery, incorporating evidence-based strategies for resilience.

• Implement therapeutic interventions utilizing modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), adapting techniques to fit individual client circumstances.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, enabling patients to unpack their trauma, learn coping mechanisms, and foster a healing environment.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and behavioral health specialists to ensure a holistic approach to care and coordination of services.

• Provide crisis intervention when necessary, supporting patients in real-time emergencies related to trauma.

• Educate patients and their families about the nature of trauma responses and effective coping strategies, helping to empower them with useful resources.

• Maintain detailed and secure documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive information.

• Engage in regular case consultations, participate in team meetings, and pursue ongoing training and professional development in trauma-informed care.

• Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to continually elevate treatment efficacy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our ideal candidate will work primarily with adult clients who have experienced traumatic events leading to various mental health challenges. This includes, but is not limited to, individuals suffering from PTSD, survivors of abuse, and those experiencing complex trauma. You will contribute to creating a compassionate space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and feelings, fundamentally influencing their pathways toward recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a recognized and accredited university.

• Active and valid licensure as an LCMFT, LCPC, LCP, LCSW, or LSCSW in the state of Kansas.

• A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, with a strong emphasis on trauma-focused therapy.

• In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed modalities.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, possessing a compassionate demeanor and a non-judgmental approach toward clients in distress.

• Ability to maintain composure and provide supportive interventions in high-stress situations.
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, with strong computer and documentation skills.
\n
