Work Environment\n

Although primarily virtual, you will be an integral part of the educational journey for students in various schools across San Antonio, Texas, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the mental health needs of students, utilizing standardized evaluation tools and interviews.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the specific goals and needs of each student, integrating evidence-based therapeutic modalities.

• Provide individual therapy sessions via telehealth, ensuring accessibility for students who benefit from remote support, especially those facing barriers to in-person visits.

• Collaborate with educators and school staff to establish therapeutic goals, monitor student progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing assessments.

• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation to meet ethical and regulatory standards while upholding the integrity of each student’s confidentiality.

• Participate in regular clinical supervision and professional development sessions to continually enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary population you will serve includes students facing a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation. Your role will require a deep understanding of the challenges students encounter both in and out of the school environment, as well as the resources available to help them succeed.

Qualifications\n

• A current state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A Bachelor’s degree is required, with preference given to candidates holding a Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster trusting relationships with students and collaborative partnerships with educational staff.

• A demonstrated ability to exhibit empathy and a non-judgmental attitude, creating a safe space that encourages student expression.

• Strong organizational skills to manage a varied caseload effectively while adhering to deadlines for documentation and assessments.

Preferred Experience\n

Candidates with at least 2 years of experience in mental health counseling, particularly in a school setting or working with children and adolescents, are highly preferred. Experience in teletherapy and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems will be an advantage.
