Plant Native Trees in Beaverton! (age 6+) Referral Help needed to plant and mulch hundreds of native trees and shrubs in Beaverton! About the Program Friends of Trees inspires people to improve the world around them through a simple solution: Planting Trees. Together. As a tree-planting volunteer, you'll contribute to creating cleaner air and water in your community, as well as improving wildlife habitat, and increasing a whole host of other benefits that trees provide! About the Project It is our experience at Friends of Trees that planting trees with community members is key to fighting climate change. Planting and caring for trees increases community members’ engagement with the environment and overall participation in civic life, including engaging around climate action. Please arrive by 8:45am to sign-in and be assigned a planting crew. The planting starts at 9:00am. We provide gloves, tools, and planting guidance, as well as breakfast snacks and coffee/tea/hot chocolate -- all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather wearing sturdy shoes or boots, and be ready to have fun! We request that youth 15 and under volunteer with a parent/guardian. Youth 16 and older can volunteer on their own and will need to hand us a youth waiver form ( friendsoftrees.org/youthwaiver ) signed by their parent/guardian.
