82 Roses Parade Marshals (age 14+) Referral Keep everyone safe and share in the appreciation of community art, music and dance through the diverse community members who participate as entries and volunteers in the 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade. About the Program The 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade is organized by the 82 Roses Community Enrichment Coalition. Our goal is to intentionally build spirit and public involvement in support of the community in East Portland. The 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade highlights the best of East Portland with representation of Asian, Black and Indigenous communities, the Parade features a multicultural diverse community. About the Project Clearly mark the parade route and keep it safe along SE 82nd Avenue. The 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade steps off at 9:30AM so volunteers start a couple of hours before. Marshals are stationed along all cross streets and driveways to make sure barricades are set up and stay in place until the parade has gone by, keeping an eye on streets and watch for vehicles when the parade passes. 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade Volunteers get a chance to experience the wonder and diversity of East Portland through the entries of the parade itself. Lee’s Association Dragon and Lion Dance Team will be joining the Parade, along with the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers and the Rose Festival Clown Prince along with Rose Festival princesses. The Friesian Horses from Washington will also dance their way to the appreciation of many adults and children. A Classic Car Club brings out their shiniest displays and neighborhood groups from all over East Portland show up to show off pride in their community. Share in the appreciation of community art, music and dance through the diverse community members who participate as entries and volunteers in the Parade.
