Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments of patients and their families, identifying emotional, social, and environmental strengths as well as challenges related to their health conditions and life circumstances.

• Develop and implement care plans that incorporate appropriate social work interventions, ensuring that patients and their families are actively engaged in the process.

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to foster a multidisciplinary approach toward patient care and discharge planning.

• Facilitate discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions for patients, coordinating with third-party payers and community resources to optimize aftercare services.

• Provide education and counseling to families on issues affecting patients' adaptation to their illnesses and recovery journeys.

• Utilize crisis intervention strategies as needed and offer individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address pressing emotional needs.

• Act as a resource for staff, imparting knowledge regarding psychosocial strategies and providing training to enhance the skills of other healthcare providers.

• Conduct clinical evaluations for patients, particularly those in oncology, focusing on mental health concerns such as depression and anxiety.

• Engage in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hour inquiries and emergencies, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing patient support.

• If clinically warranted, independently facilitate involuntary examinations under the Baker Act, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients in need.

• Participate in educational conferences, sharing expertise in psychosocial oncology practice and networking with other professionals to advance community education initiatives.

• Contribute to the community through various efforts aimed at strengthening available resources for cancer survivors, including consultation, research, and volunteer work.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily serve patients facing substance use disorders and related challenges at our detox center. Your work will impact individuals at a critical juncture in their recovery journeys, requiring sensitivity, empathy, and a thorough understanding of the bio-psycho-social model of health and recovery. You will also collaborate with families, helping them understand and support their loved ones through this transformative process.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

• Current licensure as an Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health or a related field.

• Strong understanding of substance use disorders and mental health issues, particularly in relation to detoxification and recovery processes.

• Expertise in case management, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation range for this position is competitive, offering an annual salary between USD 70,000 and 100,000, commensurate with experience.
