Make a meaningful impact in early childhood education by supporting preschool-aged students with behavioral and educational needs. This contract position offers the opportunity to work onsite in a nurturing preschool environment, collaborating with teachers and specialists to implement individualized plans for students with IEPs and BSPs. Two paraprofessionals are needed: one at Darley Early Childhood preschool and another at Bush Early Childhood preschool, supporting children in a classroom designed for those requiring close behavioral support.

Key qualifications and experience:

  • Valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit in hand (applications pending or in process cannot be considered)
  • Demonstrated experience supporting preschool-aged children, particularly in managing and redirecting challenging behaviors such as elopement, tantrums, and aggression
  • Comfortable implementing student-specific Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs) and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with supporting students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Willingness to pay for mandatory $85 CBC fingerprinting prior to assignment
  • If holding an RBT credential, candidates must secure their own BCBA supervision outside school hours or let certification lapse, as supervision will not be provided

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Providing daily support to one classroom of preschoolers (9 students per classroom) in a C-setting
  • Implementing and tracking behavioral and academic plans as designed by specialists
  • Working closely with lead teachers, therapists, and fellow paraprofessionals to foster a supportive and structured learning environment
  • Responding swiftly and compassionately to student needs, utilizing positive behavioral interventions and supports

The contract runs from ASAP through June 8, 2027, with a full-time Monday to Friday schedule (35 hours per week and a 30-minute unpaid lunch).
