Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our well-established hospital facility in El Paso, Texas. The work environment is dynamic and team-oriented, allowing for effective collaboration not only within our dermatology team but also with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care. The anticipated schedule is 3-4 days a week with weekends and holidays off, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth patient assessments that include collecting medical histories, performing physical examinations, and compiling symptom reviews to establish accurate diagnoses for dermatological conditions.
• Develop tailored treatment plans that align with patients' individual needs while ensuring thorough follow-ups on treatment progress.
• Perform a variety of procedures, including but not limited to bacterial, viral, and fungal cultures; biopsies (shave, punch, excisional); complete skin exams; and cryosurgery.
• Provide educational counseling for patients on preventive care and effective management of their dermatological issues, empowering them with knowledge about their conditions.
• Collaborate with the supervising dermatologist and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care, thereby ensuring continuity and consistency in treatment.
• Maintain meticulous records of patient interactions and treatment sessions in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, while adhering to all legal, ethical, and billing practices.
• Regularly evaluate patient responses to treatments, adjusting plans as necessary for improved safety and comfort.
• Actively participate in team meetings and educational sessions, contributing to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field of dermatology.
• Utilize outstanding interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and compassion for all patients, particularly those facing socioeconomic challenges or medical literacy barriers.
• Efficiently manage patient flow in a fast-paced clinic environment, comfortably evaluating a volume of 20-30 patients daily without compromising care quality.

Qualifications

• A valid state medical license and certification as a Physician Assistant.
• A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in dermatology or a closely related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills accompanied by excellent time-management capabilities, facilitating effective patient consultations and streamlined operations.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, coupled with adept typing skills.

• Experience in a high-volume healthcare setting, demonstrating an ability to perform effectively in fast-paced scenarios.
• Experience performing advanced dermatological procedures outlined in the responsibilities above, showcasing a comfort level with diverse treatment modalities.
• A track record of collaborative work within a multidisciplinary team, actively engaging in discussions and continuous learning.
• A commitment to ongoing education in the dermatological field, with interests in obtaining additional certifications such as Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT).

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $200,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
