Key Responsibilities\n

• Collaborate closely with the Medical Director and the Medical Team Administrator to coordinate effective mental health treatment strategies both within the facility and in the broader community.

• Conduct in-service mental health training sessions for medical, psychiatric, and security staff to ensure holistic and informed care delivery.
\n
• Intervene in escalating mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques to effectively manage crises.
\n
• Attend commitment hearings as needed, providing expert insights and recommendations on patient mental health cases.
\n
• Create and implement individualized treatment plans and goals tailored to each patient's unique needs.
\n
• Accurately document all patient interactions and treatment progress, maintaining confidentiality and adherence to medical regulations.
\n
• Verify patients' mental health histories, including the assessment of any psychotropic medications previously utilized.
\n
• Prepare both regular and special reports concerning patient progress and treatment efficacy as required by the facility.

• Coordinate with nursing and mental health staff to develop referral strategies that support patients post-release, ensuring continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Licensed Professional Counselor will work with a diverse patient population, including individuals dealing with a range of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance misuse. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

• Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey.
