The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss-type lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications.
• Perform in-process inspections using various measuring tools to ensure quality and adherence to blueprints.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operation, tooling, and part quality.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and G-code programs.
• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts, maintaining an organized workspace.
• Execute tool changes and offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy throughout production runs.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Recommended Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years experience operating CNC Swiss Lathes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to perform tool changes, offsets, and minor program edits.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, comparators).
• Strong understanding of various metals and cutting tools.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAM software (e.g., PartMaker, Esprit, GibbsCAM) for program optimization or generation.
• Proficient in using advanced metrology tools (e.g., optical comparators, CMMs) for precise inspection.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on CNC machinery.
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles for interpreting complex engineering drawings.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
