Accounting Clerk (AP-Focused)
Location: La Mirada, CAPay Rate: $25.00 - $28.00/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am or 8 AM start time
Assignment Length: 1-2 Month Contract
Start Date: Immediate We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk with a strong Accounts Payable background to support our accounting team on a short-term project. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can quickly step in to assist with high-volume AP functions. Responsibilities:
- Process and enter high-volume vendor invoices accurately and timely
- Perform 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents
- Review invoices for proper coding and approvals
- Assist with weekly check runs and ACH payment processing
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries
- Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding items
- Maintain organized AP files and supporting documentation
- Assist with account reconciliations and data entry projects
- Support month-end close activities as needed
- Provide general administrative support to the accounting department
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable or Accounting Clerk experience
- Strong understanding of AP processes and invoice processing
- Experience handling high-volume transactions preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas
- ERP system experience preferred (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
