Brighten City Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA) to join our outpatient orthopedics clinic in Grand Prairie, Texas. Work Environment

This role is based onsite within our orthopedic clinic, where a collaborative and multidisciplinary team approach is central to our operations. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balance between professional and personal life while ensuring ample opportunity to serve our patient population. Our facility is equipped with the latest medical technologies and resources, enabling our PAs to provide high-quality care in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive medical care to a diverse and high-volume arthroplasty patient population in the outpatient setting, ensuring a seamless patient experience through all phases of their surgical journey.
• Conduct thorough histories and physical examinations for new, established, pre-operative, and post-operative patients, accurately documenting findings.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging studies and laboratory results, to develop effective treatment plans.
• Formulate individualized care plans based on diagnostic results, emphasizing both pre-operative optimization and post-operative recovery.
• Manage patient care coordination throughout their surgical journey, providing education and support during pre-op preparation, post-op recovery, rehabilitation, and implant surveillance.
• Consult with supervising orthopedic surgeons on findings that extend beyond the PA's scope of practice, ensuring optimal care decisions.
• Assist in the operating room, providing first-assist support while adhering to protocols and maintaining sterile conditions.
• Prescribe necessary medications while complying with all organizational and regulatory guidelines.
• Effectively manage a high volume of patient communications through calls, messages, and emails, ensuring timely responses and completion of all associated clinical documentation.
• Participate in weekly case presentations, multidisciplinary meetings, and clinical conferences to contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care.
• Identify potential candidates for clinical research studies, gathering consent following institutional training.
• Engage in patient and family education initiatives to promote understanding of treatment protocols and recovery processes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Orthopedic PA will primarily work with patients undergoing arthroplasty procedures, providing care and support to individuals ranging from pre-operative assessments to post-operative recovery. Our patient population is diverse, comprising individuals with varying medical backgrounds and needs, highlighting the importance of personalized care and empathy in treatment protocols.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
• Current certification from the Board of Registration of Physician Assistants.
• Valid DEA registration and State Controlled Substance registration.
• CPR/BLS certification required.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience in orthopedic surgery is preferred, with a focus on arthroplasty procedures.

Compensation and Benefits
