Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Leukemia & Hematology Unit – Ohio

Start Date: November 16, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotation or Night shift available). Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs. Weekend coverage variable based on unit needs.

Highlights:

• Specialize in care for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients in a medical oncology setting
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with high acuity hematology diagnoses
• Goal staffing ratio of 1:4, maximum 1:5
• Epic EMR system with GE telemetry monitoring
• Strong interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Respiratory Services
• No chemotherapy certification required for this position
• 72-hour comprehensive orientation provided
• May float to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units as needed

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Current and consistent acute care experience within the last 12 months required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Proficiency in Epic charting system required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Strong skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy and phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line care, and feeding tube management
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Two professional references are required, with at least one from a manager or formal supervisor. One pre-approved time-off request is available.
