Work Environment\n

This position is entirely remote, using telehealth technology to connect therapists with patients. Therapists will employ secure electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain patient confidentiality and document care plans effectively. The standard work schedule is from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments of children and adolescents to identify their specific emotional and psychological needs.

• Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans that reflect the developmental stage of each client and involve family input.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions to effectively treat issues such as depression, anxiety, and behavioral problems among youth.

• Provide family therapy to educate and empower parents and caregivers, enhancing their capability to create supportive home environments.

• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including child psychiatrists, to deliver coordinated and comprehensive care.

• Offer immediate crisis intervention for young clients facing mental health emergencies, ensuring their safety and stability.

• Educate clients and families about mental health conditions, treatment methodologies, and available community resources.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring continuity of care.

• Engage in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities to stay at the forefront of child and adolescent mental health practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on children and adolescents, addressing a range of mental health issues prevalent in today’s youth. The therapist will engage with clients aged between 5 to 18 years, navigating the unique challenges they face in a rapidly changing environment. Family dynamics will also play a critical role in treatment, with therapists guiding parents and guardians in supporting their children's mental health journeys.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as either an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• Demonstrated knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, effective treatment modalities, and therapeutic approaches.

• Proven experience in providing individual and family therapy for young clients.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a nurturing and child-centered mentality.

• Ability to establish rapport with children, adolescents, and their families, fostering an environment of trust.

Positive Pathways Counseling Center offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 105,000 per year, supplemented by bonuses for excellent performance.
