Work Environment

This position is based onsite within our state-of-the-art hospital facility located in the heart of Savannah, Georgia. You will work in a collaborative environment with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. Our cardiology clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, providing a structured work schedule with opportunities to develop relationships with patients across both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physician Assistant, your daily activities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories to assess patients’ cardiology concerns.
• Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures to inform clinical decision-making.
• Prescribing medications and designing treatment plans that are evidence-based, ensuring optimal patient outcomes while considering safety and cost-effectiveness.
• Formulating care strategies in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, constantly evaluating the effectiveness of treatment interventions.
• Providing counseling to patients and families on illness management, health promotion, and lifestyle changes that support cardiovascular health.
• Documenting detailed patient treatment plans and outcomes, while initiating referrals and consultations as needed according to best practices.
• Delivering specialized consultations for cardiology-related issues and managing patient care in various healthcare settings, including inpatient and emergency services.
• Performing specific invasive procedures as delegated by supervising physicians, ensuring compliance with our clinic's protocols.
• Being available for patient care when required, demonstrating flexibility based on departmental needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily focuses on patients dealing with cardiovascular conditions. You'll work with a diverse clientele, ranging from young adults to the elderly, and will encounter a variety of heart-related issues. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving patient health outcomes through effective management of chronic diseases, acute conditions, and health maintenance.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies or a related field.
• A current and valid Physician Assistant license to practice in Georgia.
• At least one year of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in cardiology or a related specialty.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, allowing for effective patient education and teamwork.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues, patients, and families.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to tackle complex health problems.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with prior experience in a cardiology setting, familiarity with electronic health records, and proficiency in using medical software and databases will be viewed favorably. A commitment to continuing education and staying updated with cardiology practices is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges between USD 140,000 and 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
