Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to understand the unique backgrounds and needs of each patient.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to support trauma recovery and resilience.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), effectively addressing the specific needs of clients.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that foster communication and catharsis, helping patients develop coping mechanisms and process their traumas.

• Collaborate actively with psychiatrists and other specialists to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to patient care.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating empathy and support.

• Educate clients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and available community resources.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, enhancing continuity of care.

• Participate in ongoing training and stay informed about the latest advances in trauma therapy methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on individuals affected by various forms of trauma, including survivors of domestic violence, childhood trauma, and those grappling with PTSD and complex trauma. Our clinic is dedicated to serving a diverse population, including economically disadvantaged groups in Lowell, allowing you to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensure as an LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT in Massachusetts is essential.

• A minimum of two years post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, with a focus on trauma-informed care.

• Proficient knowledge of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Strong interpersonal skills, characterized by a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.

• Prior experience in delivering trauma-specific therapeutic interventions is advantageous.
