As a mental health counselor at Great Bliss, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team composed of psychologists, social workers, and counselors committed to providing exceptional care in a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and comprehensive evaluations to determine client mental health status and treatment needs.
• Develop tailored therapeutic plans using evidence-based practices to address client-specific issues, focusing on mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and eating disorders.
• Facilitate regular counseling sessions, both individually and in group settings, to equip clients with the necessary coping strategies and life skills for overcoming challenges.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers when necessary, referring clients to psychiatrists or additional treatment resources as appropriate for their care.
• Track client progress and modify treatment strategies as needed to ensure effective outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of sessions within the EHR system, ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and legal standards.
• Participate in team meetings and case consultations to share insights and strategies for enhancing service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The counselor will work primarily with a diverse array of clients, including adolescents and adults facing a variety of mental health challenges. Our patient population reflects the vibrant community of Oakland, with clients from varied backgrounds seeking assistance for numerous issues, including but not limited to stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, and chronic mental health conditions. Qualifications

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid state license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW.
• A minimum of four years of direct experience in a mental health counseling role.
• Thorough understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies, with a focus on culturally responsive practices.
• Experience in crisis intervention, with a proven ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience

• Experience conducting both individual and group therapy sessions using inclusive therapeutic strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to engage in advocacy for clients and address social determinants of mental health.
• Familiarity with community resources and referral services within the Oakland area.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between USD 70,000 and 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
